Jude is 1!

In typical Thompson tradition, we all sang 'Happy Birthday' to Jude early in the morning. He was already awake, but was so happy to have everyone fuss over him. The Martins were here, and although Craig and Lara stayed in bed...the kiddies celebrated with him...and had cake for 'first' breakfast. We had a proper breakfast when the adults got up :-)

What would a birthday be without the blessing of making a mess?

Here's the birthday boy on his cool bike!

Craig saying 'Happy Birthday'...or just pulling faces...not quite sure...but Jude was enjoying him anyway!

We had some visitors during the day...my older sister and mom...with Aydon, of course...who isn't in these pics...but he is getting oh so cute!

Mike, Stacey, Jono, Misha, Natasha and Candice also popped in to spoil my little boy - thank you all so much for loving Jude so much!!

Jude - we love you so much, and are so blessed that God gave you to us - our prayer is that you would grow up to love and serve our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and that you would serve Him with gladness and with zeal all the days of your life! You are a joy to us all!

Nothing's changed!

As you can see, our beloved friends are over from Aussieland to visit! Yes, the kiddies are all bigger, and yes, we have a few more wrinkles...well at least the men do :-) but when it comes to some things...they just never change...notice the boys in the reflection!

God has truly blessed us with very special friends...and it has been a blessing to spend some time with them on their short holiday - thanks guys!!

Masked Maidens

10 points for anyone who can recognize these masked maidens! I'll give you a clue: The first one is related to me, and the second one isn't...well not by blood anyway :-)

If you guessed Rachel and Leah, then you are right! Well done!!

Emperor, Empress and Princess

The girls have been learning all about the Byzantine empire. One of their activities was to cut out a whole lot of Byzantine costumes and dress Emporer Justinian, and Empress Theodora in them. Here you have them modeling their beautiful attire.

Last week we were blessed to finally meet our little guard-daughter Misha. She is so beautiful - what a princess! I just wanted to cuddle and kiss her the whole time Mike and Stacey were visiting us. Of course Jono is just growing up so beautifully, and is such a good big brother. Our prayer is that they would grow up to love and serve Jesus, and that we would be a spiritual blessing to them throughout their lives.

Eden is 2!

Last week Sunday we were so blessed to celebrate Eden's birthday with all those that are special to her. I don't think that she fully understood what was going on, but she had a wonderful time all the same. Barney, to my horror has become a favourite, and so we decided to have him be the theme of her special day, although I did keep him to  a minimum :-)

Thank you to all those who celebrated her life with us, and for being such a special part of it!

Rachel was our face painter, and Amanda organized the games...there is definately a huge advantage in having my big helpers on hand - thank you girls so much for being such a blessing!

I think I can safely say that Jude is Natasha's favourite 'almost 11 month old' in the church! She just loves him so much, and the feeling is definately mutual!

Ag, little Aydon, what can I say...you are too cute! Unfortunately he didn't want to sleep and so his mommy had to take him home - can't wait to see him again!

It was so special to have Eden's great grandparents at the party too - they added so much to her special day!

Aside from her family, I think that Zani is her favourite person on this planet! Thank you Zani for making such an effort with Eden and for loving her so much!

After loads of sweets, ice-creams, ice-cream cake, eats, games, chips and cooldrink we finally opened presents! She was so blessed with all her gifts that she could hardly take it all in! Thank you all for blessing her so much!

We love you Eden!!!

January Snippets

Not aware of how many people actually read my blog, I have decided this time to keep my post very brief, and just give you a few quick snippets of this month which has literally flown past...

...we started off with a beautiful wedding in Knysna, where two of our very good friends, Patric and Lyndall tied the knot. It was a lovely, family-filled, Christ exalted celebration, and we were priviledged to be a part of it!

We also spent some time on the lagoon beach, as we were staying on Leisure Island. The kids loved the shallow water, and I...well I did put my toes in a few times :-)

We also had our first visit at Aunty Barby's house. She is Glen's dad's sister. We have really enjoyed picking her brain as she is a Latin boff, and with us starting up Latin this year, Glen in particular was seeing what he could learn from her.

We also visited with Glen's Dad and step mom, but sadly didn't have our camera with. There we also enjoyed celebrating their birthdays with them.

This last Sunday, our first Sunday back at church after our holiday, we were blessed to witness Rogan going through the waters of baptism. The service was really special, with his grandad reading Scripture to him and encouraging him to continue walking with God, and his granny praying for him to become a godly young man, husband and father one day, with Glen preaching a solid gospel message directed at Rogan in particular, and then having his uncle Jacques baptize him. What a blessing!

...and then, just a side note, the girls have started their new curriculum this last week called 'Tapestry of Grace', which they are really enjoying...here you can see them creating their own country, which had to include many different landforms...what fun!

Anyway, all in all it's been a really busy January, but we are looking very forward to what God has in store for us for the rest of the year.

P.S. I'll try and blog more regularly...no promises :-)

Beautiful Aydon Jarrod De Beer

My big sister gave birth to her first born on the Tuesday the 18th December 2012. Little Aydon only weighed 2.95kg. He is the sweetest little guy!!

Our prayer is that he will grow up to know and love our Lord, Jesus Christ!
